Jeff.....different motor altogether. You are carbed, this is computer controlled direct injection.

Re: Strange Stalling Problem in E115FPXEEC

By the way, in case someone comes across this thread and is looking on how to change a throttle position sensor on a 1999 115 Ficht, it was very simple. I just did a simple swap, not sure if this is the correct way but the new sensor did not change performance of the engine in the least. The resistance range of the two sensors differed slightly, offset by about 1 ohm but this did not seem to matter. I am not sure how the EMM processes the sensor output, but it is apparently not sensitive to slight variations among sensors. Could be wrong, but it seems just fine.

Re: Strange Stalling Problem in E115FPXEEC

rustyscrew I have the same engine and have a slightly different problem. my engine comes out of idle fine and has no problem going to wot,but if I give it throttle off of idle and put it back to idle quickly it stalls .if I put it back into idle slowly it does not stall. I did the tps and it did not fix the issue.what I did do that seems to have really helped is I did the whole seafoam thing. my engine was really full of carbon. after I cleaned it up abit the engine seems to respond better and stalls a lot less. it still stalls from time to time but nothing like it was doing. just thought I'd let you know.our issues are similar so not sure if you have decarbed your engine or not ,but it may help. I'm going to clean it again as I have read it may take a few cleanings to clean it good. hope you find what is causing your issue, but a good decarb cant hurt .good luck bud.

Thanks. My/ our engine is fuel injected. It sounds like we have different issues, but it sounds like you might benefit from changing the plugs. These engines are fickle about plugs. Be sure you have the right ones, properly gapped (mine is 0.030), and indexed (gap pointed within 15 degrees of injector- if the plugs aren't indexed it can run pretty rough). I had the similar problem you described and at first I was concerned it was injectors, but with new plugs it purred like a sewing machine. Back at you, hope this helps.
