Seems Ted Kennedy and his neighbors dont like windmills. :) Isnt this pretty much the same reason that there is no drilling in their neck of the woods? Maybe if Ted and his buddys didnt live there, the wind wouldnt blow so hard.

I couldn't find any mention of Teddy in the article, Twidget.

I agree that stinking rich honkys who campaign for alternatives usually don't want them in their backyards, but let's not pin this on Teddy until he actually says something about it.

If we are going to object to our President being blamed for stuff he had nothing to do with we must refrain from doing the same thing to the libs.

Teddy did have nothing to do with it.In part of an interview with Diane Reem on NPR,he was asked about it and he did not comment, beyond saying that he did not quite understand why his name was mentioned with the windmill project since he had nothing to do with it
Teddy lives in Hyannis,so that would be right in the neighborhood of those windmills.

Re: Storm Over Mass. Windmill Plan

The campaign to stop the wind farms was started by Cape Cod merchants and wealthy landowners. It's also opposed by almost every town government. Sen. Ted Kennedy, who has a home overlooking the proposed wind farm, also opposes the project. So does one of Martha's Vineyard most famous residents, former CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite.
It was waaay down the article. I heard about it first on the radio today, then went looking for an article.

Somebody saying he opposes, huh? Well, I want to hear him say it.

The press are always claiming so-and-so favors or opposes something. He did not comment when asked about it.

I wish they would put one of thoes whirly bobs in my front yard. they are all over the hills in west Tx. they pay big bucks to put them on your property. I think I kinda like them, just like a windmill, kinda peaceful.

Re: Storm Over Mass. Windmill Plan

We have a huge windmill farm near Palm Springs. After you get over the coolness factor it really is pretty ugly. The thing that bugs me is the belief by some that hydro and wind power somehow do not pollute. While I love Lake Mead, the fact is that it and Lake Powell totally altered the environment, water temps, fish populations etc. etc. IMHO One man's cool solution is always another man's pollution.

I agree with Twidget's drilling comment. In many ways a bunch of oil rigs is no different than a bazillion acre wind-farm . . .

Teddy did have a complaint about the shortcuts, the contractor tried to make.He also said that if the local people do not want, that should be respected

A field full of human sized gerbil wheels would be cool, but those are jobs "Americans just won't take".

That leads me to another idea. Why not open health clubs where all the exercise bikes are hooked to generators and tied to the power grid?
