Re: Storing trailer

My only concern would be the plastic bags over the hubs. They don't breathe and condensation will form inside causing rust issues. Just my .02 cents worth.

+1 on that. Grease the lugs and leave them loose and exposed.

I dig the tinted windows... did you have that done?

Yes, but I don't know if I would do it again becausee its really hard to see. I wanted it a couple of shades darker, but he diddn't have that shade in the right size. Good thing. I agree though, it does look cool.

Thanks .....

Re: Storing trailer

I don't get it. Why?

some people also do this for boats on rack storage, or boats that stay moored in a slip. One of mine stays in the water and the trailer is in a storage yard down the road. I don't do anything to it but lock it.

If you think about it, what's the difference between a trailer outside while the boat is stored inside, and a trailer outside with a boat on it?

Re: Storing trailer

The stand I have it on, post 10, allows me to push it around in the shop for working on it and then when I am done I can push it back against the wall out of the way. It is impossible to move it in there on the trailer. Also I like to polish the entire hull and thats hard to do on the trailer.

Well ya, that makes sense, and we know you have a lot of time to work on it in Winnipeg. I'm in Minnesota and our boats are stored over six months.

I don't see how you do it. That boat must weigh two tons.

Home Cookin', you might as well be speaking Chinese to me with words like slip (dock?), mooring, rack storage.

Re: Storing trailer

OP said he did it this way because the boat takes up less room in the shop with it off the trailer...

I wish I could keep my Bayliner in the garage, I could work on it through the winter. I just had it shrink-wrapped to keep the little furry varmints out.
