Being the time of year to travel south I chuckle when every other add on TV here in Canada is about holiday travel south, even the cruise lines. But then I have empathy for all those working Joe's that work in those vacation spots and on the cruise ships and all those that depend on a pay cheque in the travel business. In those countries that depend on travel are hurting big already. I know people that had to come back from Florida early and had to cancel their March break south do nothing but complain how bad they have it. There are people dying out there duffus and you complain you can't go golfing or play shuffle board, idiots. And a few are close friends. Believe me I told them what I think as well.

Around our house we put BW on the shopping list instead of TP. Seriously, who papers their toilet? 'Wipe' is the key word here.

I like that Dave, BW. You are always good to see the lighter side of stuff. I f we run out of BW I have a stack of vintage Playboy magazines. Sorry Miss July 1981.

Figure a guy can get by with one/two rolls a month (provided no Hersey squirts), but the galls need a lot more

A lot more means an immeasurable amount of TP difficult to quantify.....(Sorry for that Ladies)

My family only has enough TP for 84 days. But I'm not worried as we have 18 rolls of paper towels, and if we get really desperate, I probably have 600-700 sheets of sand paper. :D

Ha fishrdan, I hear the coarser the sandpaper, the better it works. Butt, you may want to have some lotion handy as well. So add lotion to the shopping list now. Make sure it doesn't have any alcohol in it. :faint2: And try to get the wet/dry type so it is reusable... ;) :D

Much has changed since my last post on 19 March (pg 10 in this thread.)

My wife is NOT working this week or next but will be fully paid. The boy will start online school a week from today instead of being completely free until 15 April.

All state parks are closed, so no boating for me. And that's because of the idiot boaters out there. Beaches got closed so the boaters fired up their vessels and jet skis, left the ramps and drove over to the beaches and partied as usual. The end result of that hasn't happened, but it's quite likely that all boat ramps will be closed soon.

At one popular area alone, a Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC) officer saw a beach with over 300 vessels which normally only has 80. Each vessel had 3-5 people on board. Idjits. :mad-new:

A complete lockdown may eventually happen here in FL.

Did FWC hand out tickets to any dumba**es on the beach or beached boat operators? Sounds like trespassing to me.
It may be the only way to get their attention.

See post #87 and #173----People just are not heeding the warnings.----People do not understand how quickly it spreads !-----Not only that are the warnings only published in English ??--How many folks around you do not speak english ?---Do the authorities understand how to explain this to folks who may never have had a grade 8 education ? ------Some high up " elected officials " will say that procedures are in place.-----Now I think we can see that they are SCRAMBLING and saying " WHAT DO WE DO NOW "

Chuckleheads seem to try their best to ruin it for everyone, even in normal times. Mississippi river in our area has some nice beaches and islands, until the dirt heads pull out and leave their trash everywhere. Fed Govt. allows free camping and beach access to this wildlife refuge....for the time being. Eventually their patience will run out.

And yet another change. We need to stay flexible in these fluid times. My wife received an email this evening letting her know that she'll be "working from home" for the next couple of weeks via online training programs. That's fine.

We went out this evening and checked on boat ramps. The good news is that we found 3 saltwater and 1 freshwater ramp open. For now, anyway.

And today... my daughter (who lives in Denver) got laid off today. :blue:

The company may not be able to survive because they did "event planning" as their mainstay.

That's hard. My company is a similar type. We've had to lay most of our staff off, and we're all working part time to try to keep the place alive until this is over. We can stay alive like this for a few months, but not too much longer.

Usually I reserve this for something else, SK knows. All of this sucks!

I had to make a quick trip out about 5. Traffic was the lightest I've ever seen, almost like Christmas day. I crossed over a freeway and normally that time of a workday it's chockablock, not today. It was almost nonexistent.

All stores except for gas stations, fast food and supermarkets are closed. A bustling place is now a ghost town.

Our province of Ontario is in lock down and declared a state of emergency. Every business is being affected with this this invisible enemy. In Ontario unless in a small town where corner stores can sell liquor and beer we need to go The Liquor Control Board of Ontario LCBO or the Beer Store to get our stuff. It has not closed as they are deemed to be essential services. At least our politicians know what gets votes. There are still idiots out there like nothing is happening. My wife and I are about to make a big change in our lives. Place is for sale and we are going to downsize then she can retire. Not a good time to sell, not many shopping for property and I understand that 110%. We were planning on traveling so she didn't get another cat when hers passed. I said we might as well get a puppy and a kitty because even after this is all done life as we knew it just 3 weeks ago will never be the same. I predict anyone that travels out of the country in the future will go into some type of quarantine when returning. This is not the last virus that is a pandemic, it's one of the first in our lifetimes. She is still going into work as she is at a national pharmacy chain. She's the Cosmetics manager. The cosmetic dept. is an essential service? Come on man. I don't like it one bit. I would rather she stay home without pay than to be in the public today.

Polititions--I know spelled wrong !-----Are scrambling like never before.-----I called the place where I normally buy seed potatoes to perhaps put my name on a list , have some delivered.-----But get this they also sell pet food and are allowed to remain open.------Some of this is a wee joke ----Every answer by JT the drama teacher was , we are working on it / considering it ETC------My question is this where do governments suddenly find billions of $$$$-----And there are many wonderful places to visit in CANADA.----I see many wonderful places overseas but when I see all those fences around people's mansions I won't go there.

For years I have been saying that our current economic and financial model is flawed. This may be the impetus to change it to a fairer and more equatable system. Have a look at 'The Venus Project'.. Interesting.

For years I've thought too much emphasis is placed on the stock markets. The last few weeks has proven it in my mind. When the words of one person drive the market up and down, you know the numbers aren't based on facts.

With Las Vegas casinos closed, the gamblers moved to Wall St. Not quite true as the gamblers have always been at Wall St. playing with other peoples money, 401 accounts and short sellers. One firm bellied up this week because they couldn't cover their shorts.
