First i would like to thank every one for what i have learned from these forums.
After 2 years reading these forums i took the plunge and striped down my litttle bass boat. first i stripped all the rigging and carpet. Then i sanded and sanded for like 30 hours. Next i taped it all off and primed it up. Then my best freind sprayed on 2 coats for topside paint. here are some pics up to date.

Re: Stinger 140 mini restore

At this point i am stuck on what to do with a small spot of rot i found under the bow seat base seacast. or plywood and glass. have even thought about cutting the rot out and glassing the edges and laying down a piece of aluminum diamond plate over the entire casting deck.

Replace it as it was orginally, with plywood and glass, but you need to get that done before you spray the hull. You don't want deck work to mess up a nice paint job.

I wouldn't go with the diamond plate.....just my opinion there.

Re: Stinger 140 mini restore

After thinking about it i am going to plywood and glass it. got 16 sq feet of mat and a 1/2 gallon of epoxy today will be this weekend. before i will have time to get it done. as for the paint i would have liked to wait but when you have Friends giving up space and time for your project you sometimes you just have to do them in less then ideal. but its not a big deal as the repair goes under the casting deck carpet so no paint there anyway. I will be polying and taping around the repair so i don't get a drip on the new paint.

Boat looks fantastic. I really like the newer paint style updating that old boat. Very nice work.
