stiff throttle control on chrysler 35hp

Hi, The remote throttle control on my chrysler 35hp is very stiff. I'm not too technical so please give me your comments even if they're obvious.<br />Cable isn't kinked but is kinda long for the travel it needs from control to engine. <br />Anything I can do to make things silky smoothas opposed to a workout?

You can try disconnecting the cable at the motor end, holding it higher than the control end and dribbling a little penetrating oil into it a little at a time. Don't try removing the cable from the sheath, they are hell to get back in.
