sticking throttle

1980 85 evinrude.When pulling back to neutral the throttle doesn't drop down to idle, it revs a bit higher.I've lubed the cables and have to physically pushed back on the throttle arm to lower it.

Readjust your throttle cable with the trunnion.

The round 'nut' on the throttle cable engine end threaded part , held down by the bracket.

Also check your timer base for sticking.
