Hi there,
Just fired up on muffs my mercruiser 140 with MC1 drive and have a few leaks in the stern drive.
Motor 140 #5668920 MC1 Drive upper #5654636 Lower MR/Alpha #685xxxx???

Water is streaming out of this hole. Not dripping but streaming.

Water and Exhaust is coming out of this hole.

I can't see where it's coming from but water and exhaust is coming from approximately this area and spraying forward.

I was wondering if it was coming out of this hole.

The arrow in pic 3 is showing the direction of the water flow coming from the drive towards the transom.

Ok, drive is off but I'm not sure what I'm looking for?
Everything looks normal to me so far.
No water in ujoint bellows.

my guess the water supply tube or the water pump is leaking heavily for water to stream out the drain holes.

The pump and the water pocket assembly were replaced a few years ago.
I'll split the drive and see what things look like.
It just seems like too much water coming out those ports to me.
Along with the exhaust as well.

If there is oil running down the vertical shaft from under the upper housing you will have to completely reseal the upper and may need a “speedy sleeve “to repair the surface on the lower driven gear.

No oil leaking. Will pressure test when I get it back together though.

Looks like you're right on.
The 3 holes that water is coming from have a route to the exhaust cavity.
2 of the holes have water and exhaust coming out.
The one on the front of the bullet is just water.

I'm not sure why I've never noticed it before.
I've seen water dribble from the bullet but probably only after I've shut it off.

It still seems like a lot of water though.

I might have figured out why there was water coming out of places I never really noticed before. And the bullet hole was more than a dribble.

At my house I have very good water pressure with good volume.
I have a ball valve on the muffs so I don't have to run back and forth to the house.
I only open the ball valve 1/2 to 2/3 open because any more than that I get a big spray of water where the muffs go on the inlet.
Yesterday I accidentally opened the valve fully.
I'm thinking the excess pressure/volume of water found easier ways to exit than what I normally see.

I split the drive and everything looks good.
I picked up gaskets for the water pump so will try and get it back together this weekend.
