I have started a tread on my 1988 SeaRay Seville project. I have spent some time in the boat....and more importantly the wifee has given my the go ahead to restore the entire thing. Which is big, since I imagine the project will take at least six months.

So, anyway, The boats below the back ski deck (or whatever that flat part on either side of the back cap is called) had two large boxes filled with foam. Do you think you would replace these if you were doing the rebuild, or would you not? From my poking around, this is definitely the area containing the most moisture, either because the transom is leaking or because the water below deck is flowing via gravity.

I'll try to get some pics posted tonight so all of you who dont speak Canadian can understand me.

Re: Stern Foam

I would agree, prob not necesary. I would buy a sheet of foam from your local home depot, they have like 2X8 sheets that are 4" thick. It may help out with sound and some extra boyancy is always nice. Just dont spray foam!! Im getting ready to fill mine with foam....finally...
