stern drive went bad

what stern drive will fit on a 1972 srv 200 sae ray with an il6 165 hp please help and does anybody no where i can get a cheap one thanks
rigyt now i had a 888 stern drive i no someone repplaced it before io got it

An Alpha will fit (not gen II). You can buy a brand new aftermarket drive from Sterndrive Engineering for not much money if you want something dependable. Otherwise, you can buy a used one and take your chances.

i am not sure whatt gear ratio i should get it cam with an 888 outdrive and i no that is not the one it came with it is an 165 hp inline 6 19.6 lenghth and it is a sea ray srv 200

1.65 ratio check out this guide. You can click on it 3-times to enlarge the attached pic.

The 888 has a 1.5 ratio so not the same. Could be used with a different prop, but not right.
