steering system

took out an old steering cable....teleflex 13' ssc7213...found out they sell replacement cable ssc6113....would like someone to verify if i have the right replacement....also would it be better to replace the cable(old No feed back system) or remove and install new....will new "rack" fit...boat is an 83 larson...any comments would help...thanks

You really need to measure for a new rack. Do you currently have a rack? <br />If yes, then simply get the rack cable and helm of your choice.<br />If no MEASURE from the wheel center to the hull is it 13 inches?<br />If yes, YES.<br />If no, NO.<br />Simple as that I hope <br />If the answer is no you need a rotary helm and they come in open and no feed back also.<br /><br />I don't know if the new cable will work you can try it or cross reference it on the teleflex site I believe.
