I have a 1990 Alumacraft Classic 16 with a console. My steering cable is broken, and I currently do not have access to my boat to measure it. Does anybody know what length I should be ordering? Are there other parts that I need? and are there any recommendations on which items to buy? thanks a lot.

If it matters, the motor is a Mercury 50hp 4 stroke (yr 2000)

That's something you really need to measure.

Yep, not all configurations are the same soooo... measuring the old one is about the only way. Where did it break? Pics Always help us to see what you see and allow us to troubleshoot the issue much easier.

Throw out the cable and console and put a tiller handle on the motor,....

Or just measure the cable when you can,....

Maybe someone at a Alumacraft dealer or factory would know the answer,........
