Steering help!

I know steering is both a boat and motor question but it is the motor end I am concerned with. I have a 1977 35hp Johnson long shaft. I ordered a Uflex steering system. The motor has the through hole for the steering, but no bar or nut or any such pieces. I would like to know if I can set it up for a splashwell mounted steering application or do I need all the psrts for the motor, and if so what all do I need?
