I have a 1988 20' stratos 201 pro with a mariner 150. It has a twin cable steering on it and it's sticking BAD I have lubed It and It's helped a little bit. Can I put a single cable system on it? I run about 40 mph max (lot's of stumps in the river) The boat will do 55 mph but I don't go that fast. Thanks

I believe that Teleflex rates their single cables up to 150 HP. Take a look at their " No Feedback System". Put one on my boat and it's great. Relatively inexpensive and easy to install.

I have a single cable system on my 150 Mariner. When I'm trimmed out, all is very well.

I'm hitting this just to get it up on top of the list. A guy with a 175 hp is having steering problems, which I just addressed, and he can get lift from this......in case he didn't see it.

Mark

Don't know. Now that I got a new cable, I like the NFB feature of the rack just fine. Not sure if you can get NFB with a rotary, but I would definitely get that feature....you just don't have to fight the wheel all the time; just steer and when you are not steering just relax.

At 40 and with studly's comment maybe single cable is ok.

Mark
