Re: steering cable hookup

i forgot to mention it is the drum style steering , man i feel like an idiot for doing this, but the other cable was not looking the healthiest and did not want a accident on the water from the results, figured i would try to fix it myself . well thanks all for any replies ,

Re: steering cable hookup

well i did my own search on this topic and in these forums and found the answer . i did it a little different and i think the hard way. i tied the motor straight and the steering wheel straight then i hooked 1 end of the cable to the motor and then proceeded feeding the cable to the steering wheel and at that point i followed the proceedure of wraping 3 turns the 1 way and then 3 turns the other and while keeping the tension on i fed the cable around the rest of the pulleys and hooked it to the other side of the motor and pulled tight and retightened the other side and checked for play. lots of great info in the forums if i just remember to use the search.
