Steering and Remote Cables for 79 15 horse Johnson

Does anyone know how to remove the remote control wiring from the engine so I can store it? Thanks. I am having trouble finding out how to do this and do not want to break my engine.

the shift cable should have a push and turn pin to release, the throttle cable should have a clip that releases. then take out of holding clips. wiring should have a red plug, to disconnect. remove battery cables at battery. steering should have a release bolt at the front of motor.
