Stator #

I have a late 80s mariner marathon 135. I believe the stator is bad. The part # is 3985454A6, but I can't seem to find any with that exact number. Are there any other compatible replacements?

I found one ending in 35. My question is that my original stator has 7 wires coming from it, the a35 has 8. I read in a review section that they had left the extra wire unattached and it worked fine. Is this the case?

what color is tha "extra"?.. aftermarket?

It has a extra red for the idle stabilizer box to plug in. The older models wired direct to switchboxes

guess that shows my age, huh.. never traded, bought and/or installed a 16 amp OEM (34's, 35's, 36's, 66's) stator "with an extra wire"................

jus another reason i quite that sickness!.........

ok, does my model have an idle stabilizer similar to the picture? I am not familiar with that
