my names ryan, i have a 1985 80 hp mariner, it will not idle, and it will only run if the throtle is pushed half way down, i am afraid it is the staor or switch box, but i am not sure, is ther any way to narrow down the problem???
sounds like your getting fire you'll need to do test for spark on all cly's or it maybe possible your throttle cable is at fault, clogged fuel filter or separator you could be running rich. step1 get a manual and go through the trobule shooting good luck
