stator and trigger specs

i have a 1973 johnson 115 outboard i have a new battey and cables with the spark plugs removed i have spark at all 4 coils
with the spark plugs in i have no spark using a dva meter i have 277.3 volts at the stator wires brown/brownyellow at the triger i only have .2 volts this is at cranking only i think my trigger is the problem i dnt knw if that is enough volts to fire the pack

Have you looked at the test guide on CDI Electronics website?

You have a common prob on that mtr. It has to turn over at least 300 rpm with the plugs in to get spark. You can try moving the sensors in closer to the flywheel center magnets but mark them first so they aren't rubbing. May need a new timer base.

Have you tried disconnecting the black-yellow kill wire from the pack to see if you then get spark?

Boobie is correct, you need a starter in good condition, proper sized battery cables, and a 600 CCA battery at least to get the cranking rpm high enough.

yes i looked that site up and it must be .5 volts

i bought the new type cdi witch is a solid state the sensors are made internal no adjustments

an yes i did disconnect the black/yellow wire i have new 4 guage wires and the biggest marine battery u can buy from walmart and i also added a battery

an i have a shop manual for that motor

CDI has the plastic tool to check the sensor air gap. Look it up check if for your engine. Too much air gap, reduced voltage from timer sensor. Also an OEM service bulletin about this.

I bought a used trigger an it puts out ,6 volts at cranking on my dva it fires rite up i appreceate all u guys help
