I have a 1988 Malibu Skier with stock 5.7L Chevy engine. When I turn the ignition switch, it either clicks repeatedly or the starter cranks weakly. I can jump the posts behind the engine's red reset button with a screw driver and get a normal crank/engine starting. Is there a bad relay or connection at the engine reset button?

Grab a set of jumper cables, hook one set of ends to the batt and the other, red to the starter positive term and the black to the block ground.
Crank the boat, if it cranks well, replace the battery cables, of not then id look at the reset button or something else.
