Starting problems

My boat does not always start when the key is turned. Sometimes it will fire right up and other times i have to turn the key back and forth a couple of times to get it to fire. Is this a bad starter solenoid or ignition switch?

i would just start trouble shooting it. start with ingniton switch as it is the easiest to get to and the cheapest to replace.

Inspect ,clean, lube engine harness plug
Verify power at the ign switch
Bad ign switch
Bad slave solenoid
Bad starter solenoid
