starting problems

Just recently bought a 1984 Bayliner with a Force 85Its. an Ok Boat, runs and floats good We. were on the lake all day yesterday tubbingTo. much fun, these old bones are sore today. The problem was, when i shut down the motor to pick up the rider, Restarting was sometimes a problem Started. every time for the wife, but not for me. It acted like it was flooded. After cranking for a bit It, would finally start. Any of you old Sea Dogs got any suggestions? Sure would appreciate it, thanks.

1- make sure you are not pushing in the key/choke when restarting a warm engine.

2- replace the fuel pump diaphram.

well that post didn't work...... Thanks I'll try rebuilding the fuel pump, also new plugs and such. I don't think i am pushing down on the choke. Thanks again
