I bought a boat with a 1993 johnson "nitro" 150hp motor on it. The starter wasnt on it when i got it. The previous owner took it off thinking it was bad but turned out to be the solenoid. I got a new solenoid on it and have been trying to put it back on the motor and cant get it to work right. Im not sure which wires go where. I know the starter works because i have had it tested. HELP ME PLEASE! Any kind of wiring diagram or picture would be great.

Re: Starter Wiring Issues

cable from battery goes to one big post on the solenoid, there also should be a small red wire that goes on that big post. the cable to the starter goes on the other big post. the small connect, next to the big battery cable gets the yellow/red wire. the small connection next to the starter cable, gets the black wire.

there is an inline fuse on the small red wire, make sure it is not blown.
