Starter wires diagram Help!

HI, I just came to my fathers house and installed a starter in this 89 stingray with a 3.7 mercruiser but he dosent remember where the wires go on the starter. please someone help me i cant seem to find my answer anywhere.

Ayuh,... The Big lugs go on the Big post...
The Yellow/ red wire goes on the inside little terminal,..
And, the Purple wire goes on the Outside little terminal...

Below are 2 drawing. The first shows where the wires to the starter come from. Second one shows in clearer detail where they go.

The orange from the regulator, the red from the circuit breaker, and the positive battery cable, all go on the A terminal of the solenoid.
The yellow/red wire goes on the B terminal of the solenoid.

Ok, thank you for the quick reply, I think I might have them in the correct order, but its too dark for me to go re check.

Second question, starter gave up so thats why we changed it, now the boat turns over i can see a mist of gas from the carb but were not getting fire at the plugs what can it be, distributor looks good. i thought maybe a wire from the starter.

Back track, is there spark at the coil?

i know i experienced a no spark condition on mine once and it turned out to be the points and condenser.
