starter problem

i have a brand new optima battery, and the original starter in a 92 mercruiser 350 and it doesnt seem to turn the motor fast enough to wanna crank the motor. should the starter be replaced or should i look else where

Clean up the battery cable wiring and connections to the engine. You probably have some corrosion in there.
