Good news on two issues.
The starter motor, mounting issue is resolved, installed 1/4" screws 3" long in the two front manual recoil start mounting holes, used a nut on each to determine the height needed to clear the fly wheel, started out using 3/4" aluminum angle from screw to screw to hold the starter motor in proper working location. Had to relieve a portion to clear the fly wheel, and also remove most of one side of the angle, to clear top of hood inside. So will use the prototype to make a neater one, from 1" x 3/16 flat stock. Pictures when it is finished and neater.
Issue 2:
Idle speed seemed to fast to change directions, forward, reverse, without damage to the lower unit. Throttle wheel riding on the cam, was a full wheel off of the idle marks | |. Did a lot of reading, checked the trolling knob on the twist grip, and lowered the trolling speed to the idle marks. Have not water tested the results yet but expect a much lower idle speed, and shifting with out damage. Hope this all makes sense, Webekin
