Starter/Ignition Troubles

Have replaced batteries and starter solenoid. Nothing happening from key turn except for intinial beep. I jump/cross solenoid and starter will engage. Any ideas what im missing? Boat has been set-up for several years. Not necessarily starting the
motor at this time just turn it over.

check the ground on the solenoid?

Neutral start switch in the control box. Jiggle the throttle/shift lever to see if that helps.

I did that and didnt help. Had hot wire from ignition switch but not at solenoid. I spliced wire behind ignition and went direct to solenoid and it worked. The neutral switch is bad or wire broke in between. Thanks for the help, Silvertip.

To learn a little more I am having the same issue on a 115 2006. am wondering if the saftey switch could be bad, Have already bought a new battery and solenoid.

Might get more answers if you posted what you have. Year, HP, 2 or 4 stroke, carbed or EFI, a serial number would be wonderful.
