I'm starting a new thread as my fuel issue evolved into an electrical issue the old thread was getting to be a mess.

was able to get sll the fuel out. I found and electric fuel pump for 15 bucks that worked well. I have new fuel but I think I have

After getting all the fuel out of my tank and getting some fresh fuel in it back to the ramp to test. First crank sounded good and strong pulling fuel into the system. Probably still bad fuel in the cylinders or crap in the injectors. Couple more cranks and it's starting to sputter a bit trying to start. And then with the turn of the key it makes this sound like something is shorting/grounding...maybe the selonoid is clicking/sticking or something and then the key is dead for anything through the ignition. All my accessories seem to work. I do not get beeps like normal when I turn the key to on. I bet I could, if I did not just ruin a new battery, go to the boat tomorrow and it would turn over. It did this before and the starter battery died. I thought it was just a bad battery but it was pretty new. Put a new battery in. The starter selonoid on the top I just replaced and it is not tripping. I guess at the very least I need to check the connection at the starter. Is the selonoid up top the power to the starter to engage the starter motor and the flywheel? Not a selonoid at the starter like a car starter? I would add that about 3 years ago , long story, but the bilge flooded and submerged the starter and I've been waiting for a problem ever since. This is the original starter and I had it rebuilt when we first got the boat 200 hours ago...I did also clean the terminals on both batteries. I recently had the battery selector switch panel open. No corrosion was on the battery terminals and everything visible is very clean.

I struggle with electrical testing. This is an express cruiser 350 mpi 300 hours. There is I'm sure a breaker at the helm but nothing is tripping there. I will check the connection at the starter but assuming that is good, am I then pulling that starter to have it bench tested and inspected?

You're pulling the starter and replacing it with a new starter

Lucky to have got three years out of it

3, I really did better than that..it is from 07. It was rebuilt but I'm sure that is a clean up and new brushes right? I only had it out once and you dam sure can't see it..there is no other selonoid or relay tec I can remember right?
