i am looking for just replacement brushes for a 25 hp mercury starter dont want the whole cap just brushes. does anyone know where i can order brushes by size?
mercury starter brushes in Boat Parts | eBay You will need to check for the right part number to be sure you get the right size. I see a few for 35 HP up but not 25 HP they may be the same ask the seller.
I use tilt/trim brushes to repair my 25 starters. They will need to be shortened and put connectors on them. Has worked great for me. Can be bought on Ebay or at local electrical rebuilder. I grind the neg. brush off and drill and tap the endcap for a 8X24 screw. The + brush can be soidered to the old braid or loosen the stud and place a Y connector on the brush and tighten the stud back up. JMO
