Starter Amps required for a 1998 115 hp Evinrude

Hello,

I am tying to size my battery cable on a boat I am restoring. The engine is a 1998 115 hp Evinrude. What are the needed amps for starting this motor?

350 cranking amps with a recommended 100 minute reserved capacity. if my memory is correct

Thank you Sir. It's a carbed motor.

The battery size is not needed. Just the cranking amps at the motor so I can size the cables.

my 97 manual says 1-4 ft 4 ga
11-15 ft 3 ga
16-20 ft 1 ga
NO SPLICES

elsewhere is suggest a battery that is 360CC (465MCA) with 90 minutes reserve...

350 might be the cranking amps spec'd for the battery but its not going to take anywhere near that to actually start the motor.

Your question was "What are the needed amps for starting this motor?" I have a DC ammeter I can check mine with when I get home. It wont tell you everything as a COLD motor is going to be harder to turn but it will get you ballpark.

Yes, I am only needing the cranking amps required or suggested to size the battery cable. Buying a battery is a no brainer.
