Start of new project

Love the forum. just some pics of my project i am starting.It is an unknown 18ft hull. Use to be a half cabin but was converted to a center console which I will be redoing properly. I've already stripped the boat of almost everything, Have taken the cap off and ripped out the transom(no picture yet). Have made a console and fuel coffin to put in once i start getting thing back together after the transom. Side note I live in Australia so brands and stuff will vary.

got some more work done. Have got cap off ,transom out and the fun job of grinding and sanding. Also made a template of the new transom

With all that freeboard it should be great for saltwater. Are you going back to a center console?

hope to see Australia one day. (mate, yes I am a goofy American)

Thanks for the comments. It will be made into a center console again.The old console was aluminium which worked but I like things to have there place and a fibreglass boat needs a fibreglass console. In one of the pictures you can see the console i build ready to be glassed. I live near the coast in Queensland in Australia so we only fish saltwater. Took the boat out before i started the build just to check what i like about it and it is a great boat to walk around. will keep going, some more grinding to do FUN.

Has been awhile. Boat was put on the back burner but starting again. Have been grinding the inside of the hull to get it all prepped for glassing and paint.
All materials and most of the new electrical system should be here tomorrow. Cant wait. Also dry fitting the console which will be glassed in when i do the transom.

Also got a newer outboard for her. Had a 1978 johnson 115hp on before but picked up a 1995 johnson 90hp.
