Hello everyone. I just purchased a 1984 Starcraft SuperSport Fish and Ski 160.The live well located under the front raised deck was leaking for a long time and rotted the floor and soaked the foam. I have removed the whole interior floors and foam. In the lower bow area where the aluminum sides come together there was coat of a substance that looks like epoxy covering the whole seam, about six inches wide. This was all pealed off for the most part, what wasn't i scraped out and wire brushed What should I use to replaced? Should I replace it? Would 30 minute two part epoxy work? Any help woud be appriciated. Thanks Glen

Wow..Another SS Starcraft!
They are coming outta the wood work lately!

For that bow area under the DECK (ahem) I would suggest Gluv-it.

Re: Starcraft

Welcome to the Starcraft world :D

Yes, epoxy will hold there but...... since you have to get to the bare hull and strip out the deck..... I would invest in gluvit. It penetrates and creeps until it hardens and should be used on your rivets and seams. I just see it getting into tight spots better than the 30 minute stuff. The 30 minute two part epoxy, PC 11, jb weld will all basically work but the gluvit is mad to conform and withstand flexing of the hull.

Trash the old foam if it's soaked and get some blue or pink board from a building supply store....... huh a livewell upfront....post a few pictures if you have them.

Re: Starcraft

Thanks for the fast replys everyone. I tried to order the product from Iboats, but they can't ship hazardous good to Canada. I did find a supplier up here and it is on the way. I will post some pics and the story on the Starcraft forum.

Thanks Again
Glen
