'75 Super Sport. Project: strip off original white below the stripe and repaint. Doesn't need to be tip-top professional-grade/showroom appearance, but preferably not look like garbage. Also, try to do it on the cheap. Away we go.

Used chemical stripper, orbital sander, hand sandpaper, sweating and profanity to get down to the bare metal. 42-year-old layers did not want to come off. Fought like hell. Washed with baking soda.
Primer: Rustoleum self-etching. In the spray can. Took four cans to get light, even overall coat. Rolled on and tipped Rustoleum oil-based enamel, mixed with Valspar hardener.

Not finished. Still needs some vinyl striping tape, which I ordered from Oracal. I never applied stripe tape before, so that should be interesting, too.

I won't recognize the old gal the next time I see her on the lake, DJ. Looks good!

Got her finished today. It's not perfect by any stretch, but I'd say it's not an altogether awful job by one motivated first-timer in a dirty storage yard.
You sound like me. Making the it isn't perfect disclaimer. It looks good.

Like my buddy says about my chevelle which I say isn't perfect. He says it will look fine going by at 65. Same with your boat.

I would be grinnin floating by if it were mine.
