I need:

If I could get boat pictures from the original baot that would be nice to!

For this Starcraft Jet Star?

Got a year? There is a whole thread of useful Starcraft brochures, if you know the year, you'll know what brochure to look thru. There are often subtle differences in beam (width) & overall length that can help you narrow down what year your Jet Star is. Hull & topside colors were often year specific as well, so if yours still has the original vinyl paint, that may help you figure out what year.

Bow Hook? Got a pix of what you're referring too? I've never seen a hook or handle on the bow of a closed bow Jet/Jet Star.

Do you mean the bow eye for attaching the winch strap to the boat? Like this:

Many Starcrafts were delivered to a dealer w/ out light & cleat rigging, so 1 dealer might use 1 bow light & cleat set, another might use different hardware.

Search Ebay everyday, vintage hardware is readily available & in a wide range or price & condition...

Unless you are attempting a faithful to the original, restoration, any bow eye, bow/deck cleats, stern/transom cleats & step pads will work. Iboats sells new hardware, and it's often on sale, other vendors also carry them.

Stern eye/cleat:

You will want to make sure the bolt length is sufficient to allow adequate thread on the inside of the boat for the load plate & for the nuts to fully engage on the bolt threads. The same eye/cleat can be used as tow eyes for skiers (if so rated), transportation tie down strap attachements, and a bow eye. Usually a total of 3 per boat. 2 Thru the transom, 1 at the bow for the winch strap..

Iboats & others also sell switch panels, that also may have been dealer add-ons....

You can find original ads for vintage hardware here, on the far right of the page, down below the boathouse bulletins, trailers, & motor info.

Follow the Starcraft Parts thread. Often the closed bow boats are redone into open bow or fishing boats, and many of the runabout features are removed & not replaced (step pads & frames).

EDIT: Might want to combine this w/ your resto thread.... Or at least post a link in the 2 threads so if someone reads thru 1 they can easily click the link & read the other. You'll want as many people helping you as you can get if you're looking for vintage parts.

I need:
(2) Step Pads

These are available on E bay now. Brand new according to desc. Frame and all.

(1) Bow Cleat

These turn up once in a while on bay site

(2) Bow hook (Name?) Bow eye?

I was able to save my original, just had to remount it with new plywood on the inside.

(2) Stern Cleats

I don't think they were stock. I bought 4 and mounted them fore and aft mostly for bumpers. The first ones I bought I had to return, poor quality.

(1) Switch Panel

I bought a small one and made a panel just for it.
Check my restore pics.

Good luck, post pics soon too.

Re: Starcraft Jet Star Restore

How do i post the link so it appears in the bottom of all my post?

Start at the top of any iboats forum window after you sign in

Look for your user name along the top of the page, it should be just to the right of the forum search box & search spy glass icon

Just to the right of your user name is Notifications, click that tab

Inbox is the only choice, click it

This takes you to your private message mailbox (note you are only allowed a total of 50 messages COMBINED between sent & received)

On the left side of the PM inbox there is a list of available choices, Edit Signature is 1 of those choices under my settings, click it

This takes you to a thread post like window where you can add info to your signature, there is a preview signature button so you can confirm that you have it looking the way you want & are under the maximum character count. This count is not a letter count, if you change the format of your text (color, size, typeface, italics etc), make it a clickable link (adds HTML code) or a pix, those all have encoding that counts toward the total allowable. So preview any changes you make & the iboats server software will tell you you are over the character count or not.

Look through those My Settings options, it lets you customize how your iboats forum appears on you computer. I have it set up so that instead of the standard 25 posts per page when I open a thread, I see 100 posts per window. So a thread that has a 1000 posts is only 10pgs long instead of 40 pgs (25 per page). There are other features that you may or may not wish to activate.

PM me anytime if you have questions.....

Re: Starcraft Jet Star Restore

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply. Does anyone know where I could find a bow cap? Where the rub rails come together, I am missing that peice. If you look in my Restoration Thread, and go to the early post of pictures, youll see it.
