Hello: Guys
Quick question on foam. I am putting a new floor in my 70 Starcraft and as soon as I get the pictures I will post. I seen posts on poured foam. I saved all the foam from the boat I could, but was wondering if I should get new foam or just use the old. What is this poured foam I keep seeing? Any where do I get it?
Thanks

70 Starcraft, uh! I'm starting a project with a 1970 as well. How much will you be doing to it? And I will look forward to your pics. I am on the lookout for any ideas as I work.
Thanks.

Is that 1970 Starcraft an aluminum or fiberglass?

How big is the boat?

If you "saved all the foam" I'd almost assume you're talking aluminum. If the foam is solid, and dry, just put it back and lay your floor.

I did a 1975 aluminum Starcraft 18' last year, and you'll find a few pics over here.

Re: Starcraft floor foam?

I have put new seals and u-joints in the outdrive, new head gasket on the motor to date. Torn out the floor and have the material for new floor. The outer Hull is in good shape, only a couple spots where it will need painted. Will leave tjhat for a later date. The interior (side panels only) are the only thing I salvaged. They have been recolored and are ready to go. The seats were trash. I plan on putting new pedestal seats in and making a bench seat with sun deck to replace the motor cover. Like what you would see in a newer runabout. It has a close bow, so that's all on that right now. The trailer need some attention. Will most likely paint it and look for a newer on at a later date too.

Hello- ED F.

Yep it's a 20 footer Aluminum. The foam for the most part is in good shape. A small section near where the gas tank sat is gone. I checked out your pictures a few weeks ago and my boat looks identical. I have an I/O as well. Transome is solid. I love the look of these Starcrafts. I saw one out on Lake Monroe in Indiana a couple weeks ago. Man that started the get the boat done fever again. Thanks for the suggestion, I will reuse the foam that I salvaged. I'll get the pictures up asap.

Barrcada- let me know what you plan, maybe I can get an idea off you as well.
Rick
