anybody have an opinion on starcraft boats? i'm considering purchasing an 87, 19ft, 3.0 with the cobra drive. i know about the issues with omc, but am wondering about the quality of starcraft. it looks to be in fine shape, floor is solid & the hull is in great shape.

Go to--- http://pagebiz.com/bds/aluminum/repair.html

Search the bulletin board for 'Starcraft' info.
I bought a '63 18'6" hardtop Starcraft outboard this summer past and I'm impressed with the rugged construction. I've been up and down and all around this boat, painting, re-wiring, batting dings.
I'll keep this boat and sell the fibreglas Cobradrive bowrider.

Very rugged boats. My Bro inlaw has a 76 model. It's a tad worse for wear, but it's a weekend warrior, and sees much of central Florida's waterways, and has for allmost 30years. there are some cracks in the transom, but the core is still like a rock.
He said he was just going to "drive it till she sinks".
He a neat guy, you'd have to meet him.
