I want to build a wood bench seat that can fold down flat.

this is a very rough prototype but along these lines

when it's folded down it should be stable to stand on, and I will extend the casting deck to match it.

Nice Sea Dart. The step seat is ingenious - great idea. That can work in a lot of boats. Let's see - 1 case of brew to primer, how many cases to re-splash? LOL Keep up the good work, knezzer.

I have since bought another case of wobbly pops but painting starts tomorrow.

Getting there !
Removed all extra metal bits, and old bench seat. Put a bunch of new rivets in and sealed all seams and rivets with rustolium stop leak before I primed and painted. Painted the whole inside white. Nice and clean.

Got the trailer spruced up with new rollers, winch strap and paint.

I'm also going to add some rock guards to the trailer to protect my new paint job.

Still lots that I want to do before I consider it finished but for the most part it's good enough. Staying at a friends cottage for the long weekend and planning on using the boat as much as possible. Cheers everybody !

Thanks ! I haven't launched yet with the blu-baru, but I drove 2 hours north and could barely feel it back there. As long as the ramp is decent I'm not worried. A pal of mine has a shop and he's going to fab up a 6 or 8 foot trailer extension for me. It'll go into my receiver and will allow me to put the trailer in deeper without having the car half submerged. That would be neat.

i've seen some arrangements where they mount the tongue extension on the trailer frame so you just pull a pin and it slides forward when you want to use it....otherwise i suspect they could get to be a real hassle to carry.

but no worries with slippery ramp!

you just gave me an idea: the rationale for a 14' tinnie, since the wife's OBS would pull it nicely
