I purchase Starbrite Waterproofing Spray the other day for my worn out my bimini top. I was skeptical that it would work because how worn and thin the canvas has become. I sprayed it on after washing my boat. Came back the next day when it rain and was surprised that inside top of the canvas was dry. I pushed from the inside and water just rolled of the top of the canvas. This is some good stuff I would recommend to waterproofing you rag tops.

I have also had good results with Starbright canvas spray. Half the cost of 303 and it does a good job.

$4? Wow does it have UV protection? Something has to be missing from this. Walmart surprisingly have some cheap items. I purchase some quicksliver lower unit oil from there at about $6 quart. Bought all 5 they had. Was paying about $17 on amazon.

Been using it for years,it is so reasonably priced that I do the outside of my canvas and after it dries I do the inside and get multi-season protection.Highly recommend!! Charlie

What's the diference between that and silicone spray which is a couple bucks a can? Just wondering.

“Do not use a waterproofing treatment that contains silicone on acrylic canvas. This is important. Silicone is incompatible with the original treatment. The factory waterproofing chemical, which is a fluorocarbon, will repel the silicone, resulting in patchy coverage. The silicone is also likely to compromise the stain-resistance of the fabric.”
