We aim to please...........but I'm not sure where I am :D

Had an amazing incident the other day: dealing with a two vehicle "bump" which had been moved to the shoulder. It was getting dark, traffic was still quite heavy and moving fast when an elderly "gentleman" stopped in lane one beside the accident to ask for directions. Let's just say that our customer service training may have been overlooked with the response that he got. I await a written complaint

Well, there has been time for reprecussions. Were there any? I am sure the "gentleman" realized the folly of his action. Nes pas?

Nothing so far Techno. He's either contemplated the error of his ways or is constructing a "rationalised argument" as to why he was right and I was wrong :D

Closed one lane of a three lane road today and still had two muppets manage to drive through into lane one

On the upside, I have discovered that I can move very quickly for a big bloke :D

Well Cal Trans in CA would lay out a little more margin. I was driving to work one day North Bound on the San Diego Freeway. (I5) about 6:30 AM when all of a sudden things started to slow to a crawl. Many minutes later I came upon the source of the trouble. Cal Trans had closed down 3 lanes of a 4 lane Freeway to pick up a dead dog. That was when I decided to change my address and career. :yikes:

Note the license plate number and call it in: then let the boys up the road deploy a stinger stopping device in front of his nice expensive tyres :D :D

Today's muppet was a cracker: saw a young lady stopped on the shoulder and we assumed she had broken down and may be in need of assistance. As we approached a coach drew in and parked in front of her...........it turned out that she wanted to drop her kid off for the school trip and he'd missed the bus so she decided to catch up with the bus while it was on the motorway
The UK guys will know (hopefully) that it is an offence (and extremely dangerous) to stop on the shoulder for anything other than a genuine emergency. The female driver was let off with a stern warning: the coach driver fled the scene as we approached. I never knew a coach with schoolkids could accelerate so quickly :D

Techno: yes, it's a sad but true fact that a lot of animals are killed on the roads. We had one this morning: huge big dog, not sure what "make" it was, by the time we got to it we could have posted what was left through a letterbox
Upsetting to see family pets getting hurt or killed. Annoying too when I discovered that a lot of people purposely get rid of unwanted dogs by stopping on the motorway and letting the dog out of the car

Memo to RPJS and Nos: listen to the radio traffic reports today and you'll hear about my handiwork last night at work :D
I admit it, it was me (personally) that closed the A1 southbound and created that huge long traffic jam :D :D

Course it wasn't my fault it was a trucker who reckoned he could make his artic vault the central reservation (he couldn't and it didn't but it did make an exceedingly good tarmac plough for around 100 metres!).

I sometimes do nice things for motorists too :D

Gee thanks Techno, I do sometimes help motorists.................I mean, think of the fuel that I saved them yesterday: must have been a good six or seven hours worth :D :D

Nos, hope the sickie wasn't anything to serious? I'm betting it was alcohol induced or sea-sickness from blatting about in the 'rider all weekend. I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for "Young European" ;) I did see "New European" last week when the brewery lorry shed it's load.................never seen so many grown men shed a few a tears at that one......and we didn't even manage to spirit away a few kegs for our station
