I guess there is no chance you will not be seen. Are all the grey stripes reflective too?

Looks good.

No the grey stripes are the original body colour (silver) so that the government get a better resale value when the vehicles come out of service (after 18 months or 180,000 miles). The weird thing is that the panels that appear green/black in daylight are actually reflective silver at night!

"Looks like a vehicle they use in crash tests".......yep! I'm the crash-test dummy at the wheel :D :D :D

I agree!!, just go easy with that motor Stan, there's a tiny bit of it that I payed for, come to think of it I'm paying your wages as well, so when you've finished driving I need you to pop over to my place, mow the lawn, weed the flower beds & power wash the patio. When you've done that I'm sure I can find a few more jobs to keep you busy.

:D :D

Knowing the POMS, it probably has a 1.2Litre Diesel in it. :p :p :p
Cheers
phillip

Some good "hooks" coming from you guys........I suspect it's just jealousy :D

Heycods: there is no passenger, only the "colonials" drive in the "wrong" seat :D

Techno: you are absolutely correct, the government are admistering our money, but from where I sit in my office everyday I think they're doing a great job :D

RPJS: Ah, but there's a flaw in your plan......see I pay taxes too so some of that vehicle belongs to me too. In fact I "bags" the stereo as it's the best bit of the vehicle (trust me!). Ms Deezy has already pointed out that she too pays taxes and you wouldn't believe what she wants for her tax dollars  I deserve a medal for bravery trust me!

Phil, the engine in that one is a baby at 2.5litres, although the torque is reasonable and the tiptronic gearbox more than makes up for it :D And then of course the vehicle I was out on patrol in last night was even more fun: a Volvo T5 estate.....now that did shift quite a bit

Re: Stan's New Office

My reaon for the comment is this:
One of my brothers is a POM; been living in Cheltenham for many years. He visits every year and very critical of the size of our engines, (i suspect it is jealousy), and his lady friend is very proud of her little Peugoet with its diesel engine, which i suspect is smaller than my ride-on-mower's engine.
Also watch that TV show of yours where the host talks in front of a live audience about different cars/track comparisons etc. Can't believe the size of those motors. So small. Down here we use bigger motors, not as big as our USA friends. Future fuel prices could pose a problem. Understand it is the tax that puts your fuel up so much.
Cheers
Phillip

Yeah, I know your just jesting. I wish we could have bigger engines: biggest we have access to is 4.9 litres but because it's petrol (gas) we probably won't get to use it :(

As to the programme: it's called Top Gear. Sometimes it's pretty good, especially watching "The Stig" throw all manner of cars around the airfield. Last week he actually managed to crash a £425,000 Koenisigg sports car  Mangled the front wing and reckoned the car needed a wing at the rear to create more downforce......now, giving full credit to the Swedish firm that built the car, they are taking the car back to Sweden and they will fit a wing and then give it back to the Stig for testing......pretty brave move on such an expensive car :D

The government position on taxing our fuel I couldn't possibly comment on, seeing as how I'm an employee :D :D

Re: Stan's New Office

Oh come on RPJS the gov are doing a grand job. The reason they gave us vehicles like this is to look for all the illegal imms that committed ehinous crimes and then got released and lost

txswinner: we also do hand signals with the left hand but if I described them on a family site I'd get zapped in seconds :D
We do actually do hand signals from the "wrong" side of the vehicle: that's why we're always double-crewed............and I don't think they trust us to be out in the dark alone :D

Techno: they is! they is! they is! Trust me, trust this government, I love 'em! :D ;)

I like the idea Mike :D :D

We have the same problem over here and our leaders are quite happy to appear on TV and say "we haven't got a clue how many are in the country, that's why we want you all to have ID cards"...........hmmm, I musta missed something cos I reckon only the decent folks will have an ID card, but maybe I'm wrong (again!) :D
