Caps played better in the Finals, I thought. Vegas made too many turnovers in their own end. That always comes back to bite you..

I missed the game but will watch it on TSN's Hockey in 30 minutes. That's how I watch Blue Jay and Raptor games, 30 minutes.

Maybe now Ovetchin can afford 2 front teeth. For a Hockey player missing your front teeth is a badge of honour. Like a Football guy has a big zipper on his knee.

Unfortunately in the finals Fluery played like, well, Fluery ... flopping around and excitedly out of position at times. He did still did a good job, but that was always my knock on him in Pittsburgh, when in the zone there was not much that was going to get by him, but on the series where he was a mere mortal, it didn't always look pretty. He is still a great goalie and a class guy and has lead his team to a bunch of finals!

Not sure that Vegas will have a chance again for a while either. We will see how the off-season treats them with keeping the team together, adding key players.

Happy for Ovechkin ... He is a great player, but sorry the Caps won ... That wraps up another hockey season ...

Fleury did seem to be flying about quite a bit, but his defense wasn't helping him out much, allowing all kinds of traffic around him and turning over the puck repeatedly right near him. If Fleury had played an exceptional game, he might have compensated for the failures of the D, but he played a fairly average game.

I think Vegas had a pretty good year for an expansion team, and I'm also interested to see if they can bring it next year.

Mostly, though, I'm just hoping my Blackhawks don't suck again.

Hope springs eternal ... I remember envying the Blackhawk fans back in the day ... always seemed to have a good, if not a great, team. Going to college in the Chicago area (where I fell in love with hockey because of a hockey playing room mate) the Blackhawks were what we watched and were "my team" until returning back to PA and it was the Pens that won my heart, even though then they consistently disappointed. Mario changed that ... what a blessing to Pittsburgh and the Penguins that man became, first as a player and then as an owner.

Pens have become a force, that's for sure. Hard for teams to keep good players in the salary cap era, but like the Pens, the Hawks have a good recent track record at finding new/hidden talent.

Only about 4 months until the pre-season starts...
