Hi gang,
Volvo 5.0GXi with Faria gauges. I’m looking at replacing my gauge set but have concerns my Faria gauge sending units may not have standard US resistances to enable a new set of Sierra gauges to read correctly. I’ve searched but it’s difficult to find much info on this topic. Wondering if there is a set of standards someone could point me to?

North American standard is 240 cold/empty and 33 hot/full

The only online reference I could find shows US water temp 100-250 degrees using a 30-450 ohm sender. And 33-240 ohms for oil press and fuel gauge. Is that wrong?

I'll leave it and hope someone else comes in with info to help. I have never heard of 450 ohms

Yeah I think it’s proprietary Faria. I’ll have to replace the sender I think on that gauge. What a pain.

Does you VP engine have an ECM that is getting info from all these senders?

I don’t believe so. It has the temp sender in the rear port head. I’ll probably have to change that when i switch to Sierra gauges.
