You've got the general idea. You can also refer to Frank A.'s guide on "Synchronizing Carbs and timing on a 75 - 150 Chrysler or early Force" Steps 6 - 10 explains in detail how to adjust the carbs to minimize the stalling.

Dead in the water, I broke the timing link rod connector. Know where I can get one?

Yah, I superglued mine back together and am going to set try to set the timing in the morning. I found one on ebay 69 dollars though. I just need the side that goes to the ring under the mags.

Many choices on boats.net for these two part numbers. Do you know which one in particular I would need?

Re: Stalling Force 120 when popped into gear

Thanks for all the help. It's done and running perfect. My last question is, instead of adjusting the tower shaft, why wouldn?t I have just adjusted the linkage between the tower shaft and the throttle plate? This appears to accomplish the exact same results without adjusting the timing, or does it?

Adjusting the tower shaft will slightly alter the timing at idle. Adjusting the linkage between the tower shaft and throttle cam usually does not alter timing because the tower shaft itself does not move. Just the throttle cam moves.
