stability in choppy weather

We are considering the Hurricane 226 Deck Boat. We live in Florida and go to the gulf for swimming by the little islands, also do some fishing - not too far out. How stable are these boats in choppy weather???

Although the Hurricanes are an excellent all around boat, the tri-hull does not ride as well as a V hull in rough water.

I realize this thread is a couple years old and you may not even be on this forum any more, but what was your outcome? I am in your same shoes here in Clearwater, FL area and have the same concerns.
