I have a 1988 fourwinns vista 285. The boat weighs about 11,000 lbs.My problem is that when I have a full tank of gas and several people on board
I can easily spin the hub I have 2 counter rotating cobra 800 outdrives. I repowered several years ago with 5.7 GM Vortecs wich added about 50 horsepower to each side . I have 15x16 4 blade aluminum props and I spin at least 1 hub per year on either drive. If I go to stainless would that help . I have been using the XHS 101 high horsepower hubs.

You maybe could try a solid hub prop, I don't think going to stainless will help much as they bite harder than alum. does. The solid hub won't give the "protection" of a slip hub design but they also wont spin hubs either. Just a thought...

Not sure if they fit cobras, but Merc has that flow torque hub type props. A carbon fiber hub that mates inside the prop. I guess the hub takes a hit but there is no rubber and no press fit.
