Re: Spring

Our hi's lately have been 30? below normal. I looked at the forecast for the next 2 weeks and the highest hi is 30?. Our average as of today is 31?, we "may" hit 0......... Since we got 14" of snow Dec 1st we haven't had any melting. We just keep adding to the pack......

Tell ya what DayCruiser, if this is going to be the new "norm", this house will go up for sale real quick. The older I get the less I'm liking winter.

Re: Spring

3 inches of fresh snow last night. And a high today of 4. I love winter but I am really starting to get the itch. I haven't spent any real time in my garage since last November. Withdrawal symptoms have started. Mistook the shaking for shivering...
You sissies down south, you get a dusting of the white stuff and you shut the whole state down....up here we don't even start the snowblower for less than 4 inches.:)

Re: Spring

We only got about 6-8" last night, much better than the forecast just a day or two ago. Unfortunately, the low is supposed to be about -10 F overnight, with pretty cold temps all week. This is really getting tiresome.

Re: Spring

For all you upper midwesterners I hate to throw salt in our wound but go to intellicast and check out the 90 day temp departures.

Fishing season opener is the 1st weekend in May and I'm starting to wonder if we will even have open water by then.

Presently it's 4deg., normal daytime hi is 40!

No thank-you. It's bad enough around here as it is, I don't need to add to it yet. One good thing, I don't think the ice is as thick as it normally is due to the early heavy snow. Should help for ice out. Although, the ramps will be still buried in snow........

I would rather be a sissy and warm than a tough guy Popsicle :D The Lake was like an interstate highway yesterday with boaters taking advantage of the warm weather. Lots of bass boats out there. Even a few skiers and I don't mean snow skiers

You just have to get going and take the plunge. Life is too short to just dream about what you want to do. Some love winter, and if you don't, then pack your bags. You won't get completely away from winter in SC or GA but it does become more bearable. I love a snow or 2 myself and we get that every now and then

Re: Spring

Just heard on the Radio that the Great Lakes are now 86% frozen over and of that most open water in on Lake Ontario while Lake Michagan is 95% iced over. Also if they completely freeze over it will be the 1st time in recorded history.
