Hey Everyone!
Just picked up a 95 Sugar Sand Mirage with a Sport Jet 120 Mercury in it.
It has been garage kept for the last 20 years. Looks like a 90s TacoBell cup and I love it.
I replaced the fuel, plugs, battery and starter and ultimately got it to crank.
I can get it to run if I manually give it some throttle on the carbs. It won't idle, however.
When I was replacing the plugs I found about a quarter cup of fuel in the lowest cylinder. I've read elsewhere this is commonly caused by a failed diaphragm in the mechanical fuel pump.
I am planning to replace that and swap in a new fuel filter and a new air filter.
Wondering if there is anything else I should be aware of as I try to get it running more smoothly?
Here is the pump rebuild kit I am thinking of sourcing :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XKDLZQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
And here is the flush kit adapter I plan to use rather than the sketchy tape situation I constructed :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N6D7G5A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A3HKTDD5CR6HN9&psc=1
Here is a quick video of it running :
Thanks for the help!
Cheers,
Austin
