Splashwell drain

Looked everywhere on the web and here in town for a splashwell drain, 3/4 hole diameter, for 1 and 1/4 inch transom. No luck. Any leads, ideas? Don't want to make the hole bigger...this is a restoration of a 62 Texas Maid Impala aluminum runabout. Lot's of thru-hull fittings out there that accept a 3/4 inch hose on the drain end, but no drain tubes that are 3/4 inch diameter. Any input is welcome.

Re: Splashwell drain

I have used schedule 40 PVC. It comes in many OD's and wall thicknesses. I typically use thinwall.

I just used PVC collars, for the ends-inside and out-cut down, and glued them on using PVC glue and sealing with 3M 5200.

They'll last forever.

Re: Splashwell drain

Thanks DJ...that's what I was pondering this evening in the big box store on the PVC pipe aisle.

Re: Splashwell drain

Wound up fabricating a drain tube using irrigation tubing and two plastic barb fittings from one of the box stores. Was the only way I could get the drain/tube to function correctly since the face of the splashwell is not flat against the transom boards. Sealed it with 3M 4200...only time will tell how it wears, cost less than $5 however.
