Hello all-

Well it looks like the factory speedometer on my 05' Tahoe Q6 has ceased working. I would assume there may be a few things I could do to try repair this. Any ideas would be appreciated...

Wow.. I don't even know what a Taho Q5 is. BUT a lot of the speedometers work on pressure. There is a hole on the (bullet) of the stern drive and the faster ya go the more water tries to go in the hole pushing up the speedometer. So if that is the kind that you have, check to see if there is anything in the very small hole on your stern drive.

I gave up on mine and use my GPS on my depth finder. I will be adding the Mercruiser Smartcraft speedo later on, it reads off the GPS. If you have the 4.3L MPI or fuel injected motors you can add these guages.

Re: Speedometers Dead

It has happened on my Q5i SF. The cause of my problem was the weeds.

Solution for me was to put the boat in neutral and then hit it in reverse which should clear them up.
