I am sure they still make them and I am also sure they don't work, if you really want to know your speed get a GPS, they are always right and you may find your boat is alot faster/slower than you think.

The only one I have ever heard of anyone getting to be reliable are built into the outdrive.

Any store that sells boating/fishing equipment and supplies will have generic pitots. Whether or not it will stay down at those speeds is questionable. But they don't cost a fortune so just replace the one you have and give it a try. You would also epoxy the pitot joint so it can't pivot up. If it strikes something underway it will obviously break but again -- they are not expensive. With an engine that pushes a boat to 60+ MPH, there should be a pitot built into the lower unit on the engine.

Yeah, Livorsi Marine sells a S/S kick-up tube and mount. It's good up to 80MPH.
I had one on my old Wellcraft and it worked fine.
Retail price $73.

I agree that a GPS speedo is a better and more accurate way to measure speed- if you can afford it!
